Join the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP as they commemorate their 75th Diamond Anniversary at their first Umoja Read-In event. This special gathering will take place on Saturday, October 8th at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Library.

All are invited to participate as a reader by reciting your favorite passage or poem written by a Black author. There will also be songs, spoken word, and drumming. All attendees are asked to wear African garb or colorful clothing. After the performances and readings, enjoy Black cuisine (loosely defined) catered by some of our best cooks in the Triangle region!

More details (including coordination of reading materials to avoid duplication) to follow if you are able to be help them make this event a memorable one for all. Please RSVP to get your reader spots by August 31 by contacting Debbie Stroman at (410) 206-2939 or by emailing treasurer@chcnaacp.com.
