Al’s Burger Shack is known for exceptional burgers, dogs, and shakes from the best local ingredients. That means North Carolina pasture-raised beef, custard and cheese from local dairies, and vegetables from local farms.

At Al’s Burger Shack (located in downtown Chapel Hill and Southern Village), the mission is to provide local, fresh, sustainable food and drink with a hefty dose of southern hospitality. The all-natural, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef is from North Carolina pasture-raised cattle. They serve custard and cheese from local creameries, craft beers brewed in North Carolina and produce from as many local farmers as possible. They make all of their specialty toppings and dressings in the Shack.

Al’s Burger Shack’s signature “Bobo Chili Cheeseburger,” which is topped with chili sauce, coleslaw, onion, yellow mustard and American cheese, won best burger in the country in 2018.
